Alex Boyé Joins Interweave Solutions’ Board of Directors
Provo, Utah December 2014 — Interweave Solutions proudly announces that Alex Boyé, British-born singer and actor, has been elected to Interweave Solutions’ board of directors.
“I see this partnership truly helping to realize my vision of being an entertainer with a purpose,” says Boyé. “When I was first introduced to Interweave Solutions I immediately saw the potential this organization has to really help people help each other to overcome poverty,” said Boyé. “Together we can help people create new lives for themselves where they’re not dependent on others for handouts and where they can have sustainable self reliance.”
Interweave Solutions helps neighbors help each other end poverty through self-reliance groups. Interweave Solutions has been in existence since 2006 and has been revolutionizing the charitable industry by helping people in developing countries create their own sustainable incomes.
“People can grow their own businesses, take care of themselves, and help others around them to strengthen their community through Interweave Solutions self-reliance groups,” Alex says. “It is this orientation toward self-reliance that makes this organization and their work special to me. I absolutely love that it is about ‘teaching a man to fish’ rather than ‘giving a man a fish.'”
Boyé started as a musician in 1995 when he formed the boy band “Awesome,” which sold 500,000 albums and had 3 singles that made top 10 charts across Europe. From there he decided to leave the band in 1999 to pursue a solo career.
One of Boyé’s recent productions was an Africanized Tribal Version of the popular song, “Let It Go” from the movie Frozen that became a YouTube sensation and propelled Boyé’s combined YouTube views to well over 120 million, and can be found on his most recent album, Africanized.
He wants to go back to Africa as much as possible to use his love of music to make others aware of the challenges faced by those in poverty and how to genuinely help them.
“Alex is a pioneer musician, combining his extraordinary music skills with his big heart to help those in need,” said Dean Curtis, co-founder of Interweave Solutions. “We believe his strong experience in charitable organizations and especially his love for Africa will be extremely valuable as Interweave continues to expand even further around the world to lift up those in need.”
